Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea (PNG).

Project Owner/s

Papua LNG Venture, comprising operator TotalEnergies (37.55%), and partners ExxonMobil (37.04%), Santos, (22.83%) and ENEOS Xplora Inc (2.58%).

Project Description

The project involves the construction of liquefied natural gas plant with a capacity of about four-million tonnes a year consisting of three trains with a capacity of 1.33-million tonnes a year each. The project will use natural gas feedstock from the Elk-Antelope gasfields in PNG. The LNG plant will adopt “E Drive” technology, which uses electric motors, rather than conventional gas turbines, to drive the refrigerant compressors used in natural gas liquefaction.
